Maybe I need to rethink this Thursday Girl thing.

So, it’s been a week of knitting. I’m almost done with the second sleeve of Will’s Gryffendor sweater:

And I’ve got about two inches left to go on my OMG It’s Winter! hat:

And it’s about time to turn the heel on sock #2 for my niece:

Now I’m off to try my hand at applique. Hopefully I’ll have pictures to show you next week!

I’m a Thursday girl again. Let’s see how long I can keep it up.
So here’s the Golden top …

And here are the Mosaic blocks thus far:

Here’s some pictures from the Handmade Parade we went to in Hillsborough last weekend, courtesy of Will:

And a few photos from the Durham-Orange County Quilt show:

Beautiful quilting by Jean Fetterman!

“Breakdown” by Susan Brown
More beautiful quilting, also by Jean Fetterman:

And here’s the picture of the entire quilt:

Have a great week!

And no, I haven’t gotten my act together to do a give-away or something to celebrate. Sigh. One day I’m going to get a little bit organized. But not today.

Mostly worked on chunking the Golden Quilt this week. Also, I popped into Thimble Pleasures and bought the backing fabric:

And the border fabrics–red for the inner border, gold for the outer:

Pretty!

Hope to have pix of the finished top next week. See you then!

Almost done with all the blocks on my SIL’s Christmas quilt, otherwise known as the Golden Quilt. Here’s what I have so far:

I’m diggin’ it.

Here’s some fabric pictures for ya:

The fabric I bought at Thimble Pleasures …

Here’s a nonquilty picture of me and Will that Will’s science teacher just sent me. It’s from last spring. I’m diggin’ it, too:

Big thanks to Pam, Amy and Sally for sending fabric for my projects! You guys rock!

Hexagon Garden quilt is done! If you want to see where all my blue scraps went, well, here they are. I really like the back of this quilt, which I may have posted a picture of earlier:

I’m so modern!

(As always, click on the picture’s for a clearer view.)

Here’s a much nicer photo of Rick’s Star Quilt:

And here’s the back:

Nicer pix, too, of Hidden Stars (photo credits to the Man, natch):

Books I’ve discussed recently:

What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarity

Still Life by Louise Penney

Mason’s Retreat by Christopher Tilghmann

Can’t remember know if there were others …

Hope you have a great week!

I’m a potholder-making machine, girls:

Here’s my latest blocks for the blocks without a name quilt:

The top two rows are definite go’s. Don’t know about the other rows. We’ll see how things play out.

Tried to take a picture of the Hexagon Garden quilt quilting so you can see the tiny pieces of paper which are the bane of my existence:

Speaking of quilting, here’s a link to Jaye’s post about Saran transfer paper. Thanks, Jaye!

Quilted Rick’s Star Quilt. Hated it. Tore out the quilting. Here’s what the first go-round looked like:

Here’s what the requilted quilt is shaping up into:

As always, click for larger, clearer images.
Here’s a shady shot of the small version of the half-square triangle blocks I’m working on:

All the squares are made from the same fabric, a batik with different shadings. Any idea what a block like this is called?
By the by, my computer screen is acting funky, so while I hope I’ll see you next week, who knows what’s going to happen next? Oy vey!
