Look how awesome you are! I am so proud! Great job!
I love the pinwheels. So restful looking.
the LeMoyne star is great… love the colour combinations.
I agree with Jaye…those pinwheels are so peaceful! I love that they are not bright and in your face. Thanks for sharing. I will catch up on podcast later!
Here is a technique for making HSTs that will prevent you from having to deal with the bias and net you 8 HSTs at a time: http://artquiltmaker.com/blog/2011/09/jo-morton-triangle-technique.
Also, I am sorry I didn’t send you the tutorial that I posted about making the LeMoyne Star. I didn’t realize you wouldn’t see it and that you were only using that drawing/chart I sent. See the tutorial at: http://artquiltmaker.com/blog/2011/10/tutorial-lemoyne-star/ I made it just for you. π
I am not sure you have people telling you what to do very often which is why you think I am such a mean teacher and a taskmaster. π
Curves or Applique’ next?
Pinwheels..luv em. Just so happen I will be on the PW band wagon for my next quilt. Stay tuned
Really like those pinwheels! Batik is my favorite, and these are beauties.
Nice pinwheels, Frances! Way to go…….
Love the pinwheels! On decorating your living room- decorating always frightened me until I thought of a room as a quilt. Worked like a charm for me! I too love how quilting has made its way into other aspects of my life….
I remember a few months ago when somebody said they struggled a little bit with color. Hmmm? Who was that? Frances the colors and mix of batiks are terrific and make my eyes move across your design wall. Bee-u-ti-ful!
Love the pinwheels. I like your idea of grouping the colors a bit like a sunset. I tend to like quilts that blend the colors like that. One of Jaye’s FOTY quilts was like that and I think it looks very artistic. Don’t you love it when you are inspired and a quilt comes together quickly? Sort of being in the zone.
Lol-we probably do like a lot of the same movies, I’ll have to think on that one. One thing that I did put in the nexflix cue is Gosford Park- since it was written by Julian Fellows. I also need to make time for Wives and Daughters. Berkely Square is fabulous too.
Have a lovely week- still waiting for pictures of the quilting on Stormy Weather…
Kristin
I love the way you’re arranging those pinwheels! Thank you, Thank you for the podcast.
I heard Jaye on Mark Lipinski again today as a call in. She is awesome – a good speaker. Are you working on her to do a podcast??? I’m off to check out her blog and specifically the pinwheel technique. Tami In Denver
Hi Frances, me again. Love, love, love your pinwheels!! This is going to be a gorgeous quilt. I think every pattern looks great in a batik. Still catching up and I just heard that one of your listeners is listening while longarming. Funny cause that’s exactly what I’m doing! I got this machine last summer and whenever I work on it, I listen to all my podcasts. So about a months worth of yours in one fell swoop. Love your podcast Frances!!
Wait, I forgot to say how much I *love* the fabrics in your lemoyne star! Love the little critters in the corner!
