Didn’t mean to be gone so long, but some weeks (or months) are like that.

Visited Razzle Dazzle in Chi-Town. Here’s some pix:

Some quilting close-ups:

Here’s an ungreat picture of the Hexagon Garden back. I’d take a better picture, except now it’s basted and looks kind of funky with all those pins. This picture definitely is better when you click on it.

Have a great week!

  1. I always think of Chicago as a happening place. How great Razzle Dazzle resides there. I saw Jill Bolte Taylor’s video on Ted.com. (She may be a better speaker than writer – it makes you wonder about the after-effects of a pretty impressive stroke.) Anyway I remember it as quite a moving talk to a roomful of tech people, a bit teary. I am asking you to keep the hot weather on your Coast Miss Frances. Thanks.

  2. Hi Francis So glad to hear from you – downloading the episode as we speak, will listen to it as soon as it has finished. The quilt looks great insitu. Have a great weekend.

  3. What a great back. I love the improv-y patch.

I can’t imagine it being hot outside, it certainly hasn’t arrived here yet. My feet are cold and I need to go find my slippers!

    Need to finish the episode….

  4. I loved hearing about your adoration of your son’s teacher. I bet he is equally thrilled with having you as a class parent. Good stuff. About your book, “My Stroke of Insight”, it reminds me of a book I think Tanisha recommended called “Still Alice” by Lisa. The protagonist is a PhD Harvard professor who is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer. I think most of us have a family member or friend who was given a similar diagnosis. This book really painted a clear, hopeful yet devastating picture of what it might be like for a person living with Alzheimer’s. It certainly gave me some possible understanding into the actions of my own Grandmother. I loved reading the book. A fast read, not overly deep but it definitely kept my attention to the very last page.

On your Hexagon Garden, I always love quilt backs and have been known to pout at quilt shows when there are no white glove people around to give me a glimpse of the back of a quilt. Yours is fantastic. No boring backs is my preference and yours is great. Wouldn’t expect anything less from you.

    Terje (Sounds like Terry)

  5. Glad you made it back from Chicago. One of my sisters lives to the NW of the City; I enjoy visiting her, but am not sure about thw winters.

Kurt is picking up Katie at State on 05/10; I’m sure that they will send good wishes your way.

    All the best.
