  1. I’m glad I’m not the only one that can’t think of ordinary words when I want to use them. It seems the harder I think, the further away they go.

Love the quilt. I’ve been looking for a pattern for a baby quilt for my nephew’s new baby and I came across that exact pattern on Pinterest. It was in my top two choices but I choose another that would use up more of my scraps.

Glad you worked it out with your friend and thanks for letting us follow along. You handled it so well. You don’t know what you don’t know, is so true and a good thing for me to remember.

  2. Your interviews with the Man sound great. Can’t wait to hear them.
OhMyGoodness! I bet your heart dropped when you couldn’t find your son. Evan at church, that is quite a frightening thing for a parent. yes, a cell phone would be handy. Just remember to add the rule about always answering if it is from a parent right up front. These kids… 🙂
I’m so glad your issues with your friend are mostly resolved. I can’t imagine anyone being non communicative with YOU. She must have been having a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad week. Yep, only excuse possible.

  3. Listening to the podcast again as I was doing some work. The quilt show you went to sounds like the most of the guild quilt shows around here in Michigan. Most of the guilds do it to raise money for various charitable organizations. They charge a modest admission, lunch is sold. I love them because you see the new quilts, even some works in progress if the ladies are having demos. I also like seeing the antique and family quilts ( as long as they are clean with no pet hair) The older quilts consist of older fabrics, and styles but they are quiet lovely.

As for getting the information out about the quilt show we do it in several ways. One MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY QUILT MUSEUM has an online newsletter / event page where we could . We also send flyers to all the other local quilt guilds and groups as those are the target audience. Most of the local newspapers use to put it in a small ad / announcement since we were raising money for charities. Main thing I learned from the quilt shows I was involved with is that there has to be SOMEONE in charge who is willing to work and arrange announcements in advance of the show.

  4. Hello Miss Frances! I loved that you could record on your porch for a bit. While I will try not to complain, it has been weird here in So Cal. The local water company went door to door this past week to explain the rules for the Drought. The kid was so young and sweet and apologetic as if he was responsible for the new rules. Brave new world. It is strange though, as if we moved to a new zip code with all kinds of new unseasonal hot weather and rain a memory from days gone by.

Anyway, I don’t think it is possible to have a perfectly matched stitch for machine quilting if the threads aren’t close in color. That is why lots of people use busy prints on the back of the quilt. I do have an extra bobbin case I fiddle with to help out with the tension when it is especially tricky. I say “own the little dots.” One teacher told me they were a design element.

Have a lovely North Carolina week.
